The InSPHIRe lab would like to extend a big welcome to our two new students Kelly Clemens and Lizz Gallinari! Kelly earned her M.A. in counseling at Oakland University in Michigan and is interested in the impact of social and cultural factors on health behaviors and decision-making. Lizz earned a B.S. in psychology and B.A. in communication studies at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts and is interested in social comparative processes, especially on social media. Welcome to the team!

Congratulations Fawn and Lindsay!
Congratulations to 5th year student Fawn Caplandies, and 6th year student Lindsay Roberts who both secured jobs after graduation! Fawn will be working as a data analyst for Marketing Associates in Dearborn, Michigan and Lindsay will be working as a 3-year visiting assistant professor at Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. We wish you the best of luck in your next endeavors!

Student Poster Presentation Award
Two of our graduate students won awards in the Student Poster Presentation Competition at the Health Psychology Research Symposium, held in the University of Michigan – Dearborn in October 2017! Yopina Pertiwi won first place for her poster presentation entitled “Is it the Way I Look? Investigating the Role of Physicians’ Social Identities on Patients’ Perceptions and Behaviors toward the Physicians.” Ashley Murray won third place for her poster presentation entitled “Exploring the Impact of Explicit and Implicit Affect Related to Health Behaviors in Cancer Survivors.”
